Reception Music

Mrs Addison was delighted to have the chance to pop in and see the Reception classes during their music lesson this term and was so impressed by what they have been learning.  There is only the one photo of them performing one of their clapping rhymes, but they showed off an amazing set of musical skills:

• Singing and chanting a large repertoire of short pieces from memory.
• Individuals singing on their own from the ‘singing chair’ and leading the class.
• Listening with great concentration to their piece from ‘Minute of Listening’.
• Giving really good feedback about the music they listened to and recognising instruments.
• Moving around the Music Studio in time to the beat and showing different tempos.
• Clapping some tricky patterns really rhythmically.
• Using great musical vocabulary.
