Reception - Festivals and Celebrations!
Reception have started their year off with a bang! They have been exploring Festivals and Celebrations from all around the world. They started by thinking about birthdays, and the children loved talking about how they celebrate their own birthdays with presents, cake and even balloons. They then went on to think about weddings, some children had been to a wedding recently and shared their experiences with the class. Their focus then moved onto specific cultural and/or religious celebrations such as Eid, Diwali and Lunar New Year. The children enjoyed making lanterns for Lunar New Year, Diwa Lamps for Diwali and designing a prayer mat for Eid.
