Summer 2014

Examples of children's work

Bikeablility

"As well as all the exciting trips Year 6 have been on this Summer, they've also carried their road cycle training with Bikeability. Most children have reached the standard to cycle on Cambridgeshire's roads. They also spent a day with Dr Bike, ensuring their bikes were roadworthy and they wrote bike information leaflets which they aim to hand out to children across the school. Watch out Tour de France riders!"

Audley End

"Following the hard work the children did leading up to their SATs, they were treated to a day out at Audley End House and Gardens. There they saw how Victorian aristocrats and servants lived very different lives, even though they lived side by side each other. Children especially loved dressing up as both stable boys (and girls) and as upper class hunters on horseback. All in all, the trip was fantastic (it didn't even rain!) and on their return children used their experiences to create a family guide book for Audley End House."

SATs Treat

"For their SAT's treat year 6 children were treated to a mystery day out. Firstly they were taken to the Arts Picturehouse to see Bugsy Malone; they had the whole cinema screen to themselves! Then they were whisked down to Nandos where they enjoyed a fabulous burger, fries and a ice-lolly desert. The children never guessed what the whole treat was, although 'Nandos' was mentioned a few times in the lead up to the trip."
