Y5 Trip to Duxford Autumn 2015
On Tuesday 3rd November, Year 5 had the opportunity to visit the Imperial War Museum in Duxford to introduce our new topic of World War One.
In the morning, we explored different hangers in groups. We saw lots of planes from World War One and World War Two and we talked about the differences between them.
We marched like soldiers up to the Land Warfare hanger and experienced the sights and sounds of the trenches.
In the afternoon, we had an interactive talk with a member of staff from the museum. She showed us lots of artefacts and pictures from World War One. Some children volunteered to try on different helmets and uniforms.
Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Duxford and wrote recounts about their experiences.
